Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the top killers in North America. As a result, there is ongoing research into the causes, mediators, triggers, and other factors that might influence the disease process. Diet and lifestyle continue to be the most important influences when it comes to CVD. (I have written about this topic in great details here.)
Recently, an interesting study was published on the effects of cacao on cardiovascular biomarkers. 1It turns out that you can have your chocolate and eat it too (as long as it’s the “good stuff”).
